Reading List

Although I am a proponent of never reading multiple books at a time, I seem to have gotten myself into a sticky situation. Below are the various books I have begun… The life of a bibliophile.

Professional:

Branching Out (I’m not a huge non-fiction text reader unless it pertains to my profession…):

Oops!

Hoping I don’t get in trouble with the hubby for buying this awesome mirror. I got it in the house all by myself though so I feel like that counts for something.

Awaiting Autumn…

Ah, September and finally on the other side of this unusually hot summer. Today I start my Autumn early with the return of the infamous Starbucks pumpkin spice latte and one of my favorite movies of the season…

Hello world!

For my inaugural post, I shall leave you with a poem. A poem I hold as near and dear to my heart. Ten points that can be redeemed for nothing useful, nothing at all in fact, shall be awarded if you can tell me the authoress’ name (only clue you will get!). Use of the internet or other such sneaky tools (tsk, tsk) is strictly forbidden, highly scandalous, and very much so frowned upon. I did take a few liberties with the word choice, though changed nothing that would be considered essential to anyone other than myself. Ten more non-redeemable points if you can call attention to my “quote-unquote” liberties.

She ate and drank the precious words,

Her spirit grew robust;

She knew no more that she was poor,

Nor that her frame was dust.

She danced along the dingy days,

And this bequest of wings

Was but a book. What liberty

A loosened spirit brings!
